| Vaughn Clair is Retail Profit Growth consulting’s Proprietor and Principal Consultant.
Vaughn has over 30 years of business experience working with retailers in Australia and South Africa. His background is retail IT and systems having begun working life in South Africa with NCR, a valuable training ground in retail (gaining experience and training from NCR in Germany, the UK and USA). Because of his NCR background, Vaughn was recruited by Coles Myer from South Africa in 1987 ending up working in Melbourne in the Super K Mart business in charge of Super K Mart’s systems implementation and support. At Super K Mart Vaughn rolled out new Point of Sale and store systems. When Coles closed the Super K Mart business, Vaughn left and moved into a retail consulting role, eventually building a successful retail software company with his business partner. His company built one of the early Windows based integrated retail merchandise management and Point of Sale systems which were successfully sold and installed in a number of Australian and overseas retailers. After over 7 years building this business, Vaughn sold his shareholding to his partner in 2000. The company is still in operation today with the systems still running in the majority of those early customers. Vaughn moved to Queensland joining a large Brisbane based software company to lead the development, sales and delivery of their retail product suite as Retail Product Manager. This system was successfully installed in a number of retailers including a large Consumer Electronics company that still runs the system today. In 2006, Vaughn joined Fujitsu Australia heading up the Retail Industry consulting practice in Fujitsu Consulting and becoming the Retail Industry Director responsible for sales and marketing strategy and delivery to Fujitsu’s large retail customer base in Australia and New Zealand. Vaughn is now focused on working with retailers, using his considerable business experience, consulting background and systems and process knowledge to assist local retailers improve their business performance. |
